Why a Game-a-Thon?  Nationally, abortion funds gather in April to compete in bowl-a-thons (hence all the bowling images on our page!)  But NOAF was turned away from the popular local bowling alley because they would not support our cause.  Undeterred, we got creative and instead brought our fierce competition and thirst for reproductive justice to Shamrock for a beer/ping-pong, billiards, darts, and games tournament.  Of course, there are costumes and prizes!

What do I have to do?  Get your friends together (teams of 3-6), pick a great team name, and raise some money!  You can email, facebook, tweet, ask in person, anything you want.  People donate on your personal page, and the money goes straight to clients in need.  Then, we all get together at Shamrock to party!

Why should I join?

  • Our clients need you!  Since we began making pledges in April 2013, NOAF has assisted over 1,000 people from throughout the Gulf Coast in accessing abortion care. Because of generous support from foundations for our overhead costs, 100% of Game-a-Thon donations go to our clients.
  • Your voice can help bring down abortion stigma!  Many of us have walked for a cause or raced for the cure.  Playing for choice, talking to our friends and family about the need for abortion funds, and raising awareness about the restrictions facing patients is a powerful way to bring about change.
  • It's a ton of fun!  On April 22, get ready to party with awesome abortion funders!  We'll have games, food, drink tickets, prizes, and more!
